BBT – Materials Processing offers a wide spectrum of both, polarizing and non-polarizing optical elements for operating light in the MWIR and LWIR spectral regions. Custom-made prisms are available in different shapes, angles, and configurations and may be used for a wide range of applications. We offer right-angle, dove, penta, and custom-angled different prisms with various dimensions. Optical windows made of Calomel are available as flat or wedged, depending on the customer´s needs. They may be used in IR optical systems, where other materials transparent in infra-red struggle with low damage threshold or transparency. The BMD rim tape machine is a flexible machine for various rim tape applications. The smart designed machine enables you to apply tape to bicycle rims. Due to its design it is easy to set the machine for different rim diameters and rim heights. The process is fully automatic, during the application of the tape it detects the position of the valve hole. After the tape application is completed it will cut a hole at the valve hole position. The wheel database will set the different parameters used for the application of the tape. A new tape roll can be installed in a matter of seconds. The machine uses the same control system and user interface as on the other BMD machines. This makes the use of the machine easy for operators and service. The simple structured menu leads you easy to all machine functions.

CANCrocodile is designed for safe data reading from vehicle CAN bus. 1708Crocodile is designed for safe data reading from J1708 bus (SAE J1587) of vehicles. NozzleCrocodile is used within vehicle telematics and GPS tracking systems for fuel consumption monitoring of personal cars and small commercial vehicles. Calomel IR polarizers are the only crystalline prismatic polarizers applicable in the mid-IR and LWIR spectral regions on the market. Beside the Calomel prismatic polarizers, only wire grid systems are currently available with no other birefringent crystal transparent above 6µm. The combination of Calomel´s two unique material properties: a high value of birefringence (Δn=0.683) and a wide transparency range (0.4μm-17μm), makes it a great material for mid-infrared polarizers and phase delay components. Our Calomel Wollaston polarizer is designed for the most demanding applications that require two separately accessible, high purity orthogonal linearly polarized beams. The air-spaced prism pair is assembled into a 30.0 mm diameter black anodized aluminium housing with a 10x10 mm clear aperture.

Another significant advantage of Calomel crystal is that the material is optically positive, so GF polarizer transmits the ordinary (o) beam, whereas the extraordinary (e) one is reflected to the side and may be used for the application if required. This is an exceptional feature of mercurous chloride material.

Calomel is suitable for the construction of acousto-optical devices. To illustrate, Calomel´s AO figure of merit is comparable with that of a tellurium dioxide TeO2 and more than one order better than that of lead molybdenate PbMoO4. The transparency of Calomel (0.38 to 20µm) enables the use of AO units in a broad spectral range (compared with TeO2) covering a very interesting thermal IR region. No acousto-optical tuneable filter for interesting spectral TIR region is currently available on the market.

The BMD bicycle tire fitting machine can be used to quickly fit tires to wheels of sizes 12 to 29 inches in diameter, both tubed and tubeless, from slim road racing rims up to large fat bike rims and even e-bike wheels. With its simple set up and ease of use, operators soon become familiar with the process of fitting tires and can build up both speed and accuracy. Due to the precision engineering, and delicate operation, tire fitting is accomplished at speed whilst retaining the trueness of the wheel and preventing damage to the final product.

The BMD 250 Obelisk II truing machine is a fast, user-friendly bicycle wheel truing machine with two operating nipple keys. The use of modern techniques, such as brushless servomotors without gearboxes and digital control means that the Obelisk can be set with great accuracy. With a production speed of 40 to 100 wheels per hour, the Obelisk is one of the fastest machines of its type.
