Conventional drive springs
Drive springs consist of several turns of flat band material wound around a central shaft or mandrel in a housing. When the shaft is rotated, the material unwinds flat, generating increasing torque proportional to the number of turns. Drive springs can deliver torque either through the mandrel or the housing and offer a long lifespan.
Pre-tensioned drive springs
These drive springs are pre-rolled and newly wound to achieve maximum torque. Compared to conventional springs, pre-tensioned drive springs optimally utilize the material properties and provide the greatest possible number of working turns with minimal material usage.
Spring housings
After manufacturing, each drive spring is placed in a housing that prevents the spring from unwinding uncontrollably. These housings allow for easy handling and quick installation. They are available in various configurations and with external fastenings to ensure maximum flexibility for different applications. Variants with lightweight and durable housings are also available.
Thanks to our expertise, we can develop housings according to individual customer requirements to meet specific performance needs. Typical applications include elevator safety doors, balancers, and safety devices.
